Any business in Western Australia that had to close or operate with any restrictions during the COVID crisis MUST have a COVID Safety Plan in order to reopen.

COVID Safety Plans are a necessary part of reopening to ensure that by reopening your business you do not increase the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus in WA.

Businesses must ensure their COVID Safety Plan is available for inspection by authorised officers and the government has indicated that they will be performing random checks.

Even if your business was not required to close, you may choose to voluntarily complete a COVID Safety Plan and display a COVID Safety Plan Certificate. Doing this is likely to help give peace of mind to customers so they feel comfortable visiting your business in the current challenging environment. Having a COVID Safety Plan will also help business owners and mangers to clearly implement and demonstrate their compliance with providing a safe workplace to their employees under the Work Health and Safety laws.
